On Saturday, November 16th, the grand hall of Palazzo Chigi in Formello, near Rome, hosted the presentation of the book “L’Eco della Gentilezza” [The Echo of Kindness]. The event received the patronage of the Lazio Region, the Municipality of Formello, and the Pro Loco of Formello. Written by the young and talented author Claudio David, who is also an actor, musical composer, and versatile artist, the book immerses readers in themes of altruism, respect, tolerance, understanding, and love for life, while firmly rejecting violence.
The presentation provided a rare opportunity for reflection on topics that, although seemingly obvious, are often forgotten in everyday life. It showcased a unique achievement among young authors, as the book has been translated into Latin, English, Spanish, and French.
The event attracted numerous guests who gathered to celebrate kindness, including John Filippo Santi, the Mayor of Formello; Giuseppe Emanuele Cangemi, Vice President of the Lazio Regional Council; Don Marc Kantungeko, the parish priest of Formello; Giovanna Pini, President of the National Center Against Bullying – Bulli Stop; lawyer Giuseppe Montoro; sociologist Chiara Narracci; psychologist Simonetta Volpini; and Professor of Computer Science Pietro Diolordi. The philosopher Massimiliano Pappalardo joined the event via a connection from Catania.
The audience was treated to heartfelt performances by singers Giulia Furgiuele and Ela Canessa, actress Tiziana Pompili, and musician Sampietro, who touched the souls of attendees by singing the anthem of kindness composed by Claudio David and delivering a monologue extracted from the book.
Reflecting on the event, Claudio David expressed his gratitude, stating, “I was very nervous at the beginning, but thanks to your presence and support, the panel we organized was a great success. We addressed complex and delicate issues with depth and care. I believe people went home with more tools to understand and combat violence in all its forms. This was our goal, and it was made possible by the contributions of all participants.”
The afternoon proved to be a beautiful gathering, highlighting the importance of kindness. Claudio David certainly made an impact in the hearts of all those present, filling the hall with a sense of hope and community.
