Founded in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 2016, W— has grown into a multifaceted institution dedicated to fostering critical discourse on artistic processes, cultural practices, and the interplay between art, politics, and society. Operating across three distinct venues, W—Galería, W—Archivo, and W—Naturae, the institution offers a holistic approach to contemporary art, blending exhibitions with ecological initiatives, archival research, and international collaboration.

Since its establishment in 2016, W has emerged as a cornerstone of contemporary art in Latin America, offering a space for critical reflection, artistic dialogue, and cultural exploration. With three distinct venues spanning Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Pueblo Garzón, Uruguay, W creates a platform that intertwines artistic production with environmental, historical, and social contexts.

A Unique Ecosystem of Art Spaces

  • W—Galería (Buenos Aires): Located in the historic space once home to the Helft collection, this venue boasts four expansive rooms and an impressive garden designed to showcase ambitious contemporary projects. The semi-annual programming emphasizes cross-disciplinary exchanges and large-scale exhibitions.
  • W—Archivo (Buenos Aires): Housed in a restored building that was once the iconic CAyC (Centre for Arts and Communication), W—Archivo focuses on archival material and research as a dynamic process. It fosters collaborations between artists across generations, engaging with history and editorial endeavors.
  • W—Naturae (Pueblo Garzón, Uruguay): Nestled amidst hills and vineyards, this venue bridges ecology and art, promoting environmentally-conscious initiatives. W—Naturae aims to redefine the traditional exhibition space, creating a context that seamlessly merges artistic exploration with environmental engagement.
