Palazzo Merulana, the vibrant heart of culture and home to the Elena and Claudio Cerasi Foundation, is set to host the fourth edition of Merulove this February. This initiative promises to be a celebration of love, art, and literature, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in a unique cultural experience.
A Festival of Conversations
The festivities kick off on February 5th at 7:00 PM with a special event titled “Le Conversazioni.” Esteemed author and intellectual Nicola Lagioia will engage in a dialogue with Antonio Monda, exploring the intricate facets of modern society. Lagioia, who won the prestigious Premio Strega in 2015 for his novel La ferocia, is known for his deep insights into contemporary culture, further enriched by his podcast La città dei vivi, inspired by his acclaimed book of the same name.
Special Promotion for Couples
On February 14th, in celebration of Valentine’s Day, Palazzo Merulana will offer a “2×1” promotion. Couples can purchase a single ticket that grants them access to the museum, allowing them to explore the permanent collection and the temporary exhibition “Aleardo Paolucci. 1927-2013. Between Pienza, Siena, and Rome in the Footsteps of Pius II,” curated by Laura Bonelli. This special offer is available exclusively at the Palazzo Merulana ticket office.
A Poetic Journey Through Love
The festivities continue on February 15th at 7:00 PM with an enchanting event titled “The Most Beautiful Love Poems of the Twentieth Century.” Set against the backdrop of Palazzo Merulana’s stunning halls, this poetic journey will feature readings from renowned poets such as Eugenio Montale, Pablo Neruda, Alda Merini, Prévert, Cortázar, Salinas, Carver, and Ritsos. The readings will be brought to life by Mara Sabia, an actress and poet, alongside Emilio Fabio Torsello, a journalist and co-founder of the literary circle La Setta dei Poeti Estinti, which has been promoting culture and beauty through events since 2016.
Exclusive Art and Creativity
This year, attendees can also look forward to a special corner in the bookshop featuring the work of Tommy Nicoletti from the Cervelli Ribelli Foundation. Known for his captivating graphics, Nicoletti will showcase his original animated mugs adorned with iconic cherubs, offering a unique opportunity for visitors to take home a piece of art.
