“Crepúsculo” by Martín Ron Nominated for Best Mural of 2024

The renowned Argentine muralist Martín Ron is celebrating a new international nomination: his work “Crepúsculo,” located in the city of San Nicolás de los Arroyos, in Argentina, has been selected by the platform Street Art Cities to compete for the title of “Best Mural of 2024.” This annual competition aims to highlight the talent and creativity of urban art worldwide.

In an interview with Radio Nacional, Martín Ron shared how he began painting in public spaces during his high school years. He expressed his enthusiasm for urban art, stating that he enjoys painting in the street because “everything happens.” He feels adrenaline and a sense of conquering spaces, achieving goals and objectives.

The mural “Crepúsculo” depicts a woman emerging from the Paraná River, shielding herself from a storm with an umbrella while holding a quill in her hand. This element symbolizes the quill used to sign the historic San Nicolás Agreement, intertwining the city’s identity with its history and nature. The composition visually connects with another of his works, “Olivia y el río,” creating a unique artistic journey in the city.

The public has until January 25 to vote for this artwork in the international competition. To participate, interested individuals can access the link available on Martín Ron’s Instagram profile or go directly to the official contest site: Street Art Cities.

“I am incredibly proud that “Crepúsculo” has been nominated, and I would be thrilled to have your vote to help this artwork gain international recognition. Your support not only honors my work but also highlights the vibrant artistic community in San Nicolás de los Arroyos”, Martín says.
