On December 13, 2024, at 8:45 PM, the charming Ex-Asilo “Maria” in Griante will host the concluding event of the Arte Solidale Festival’s tenth edition. This year’s festival has already delighted audiences with a series of spring concerts and a week-long celebration in September, showcasing historical instruments and centered around 19th-century repertoire.
The final concert of the year promises to be a heartwarming pre-Christmas experience, featuring pianist Danilo Mascetti and actress Alessandra Fertitta. Together, they will present a unique performance dedicated to the music of Franz Liszt, intertwined with captivating tales and legends associated with the composer.
The evening will be a rich tapestry of prose and poetry, ranging from ancient Christmas carols to legends about St. Francis. The program will include Liszt’s most virtuosic pieces, such as “Funérailles,” alongside more intimate works like “L’Albero di Natale.” The audience will embark on a journey where music and words merge seamlessly, creating an enchanting atmosphere.
Alessandra Fertitta will recite the literary sources that inspired the Hungarian composer, allowing listeners to appreciate the piano pieces from multiple perspectives. From Lamartine’s poetry in “Benediction de Dieu dans la Solitude” to letters addressed to Wagner that describe the “Second Legend,” each selection will enhance the musical experience.
The concert will navigate between grand heroic virtuosity and the gentle whispers of Christmas chorales, intertwining music with poetry for a night perfectly aligned with the upcoming festive season.
As always, entry to the event is based on a free offering, with all proceeds going to charitable projects dedicated to disadvantaged youth, organized by the Coop. Sociale Azalea. Join us for an evening of inspiration, artistry, and generosity as we celebrate the spirit of the season!
